How We Develop Shows

Ideation

Podcasts only work when there is serious intent behind them—tragic statement, but true. The chances of you being Alex Cooper are next to zero, and that's okay because if you're reading this, you own or work for a business that does fine not being Alex Cooper or Joe Rogan. So, to be intentional with your podcast is to ask a series of thoughtful questions about the ideal audience. Because there are many time-wasters out there, and you don't want to be one of them.  We first ask why. Why do you want to start a podcast? The best answer for our clients is something to the effect, "I want to improve and expand our organic content marketing in a way that ultimately increases sales for our business." Then we ask who. Who is your ideal customer in your business? What do they buy from you? When they make a purchase, what do they find most valuable about their experience?  We do this because if your podcast is going to help with sales, it makes sense to have as much overlap between your audience and ideal customer as possible.  Now comes the what.  In what format should your podcast be to best communicate with your ideal audience/customer? And what format brings them the most value? What depends on the Venn diagram between the format that is most valuable to your audience and how feasible that format is with your production budget and logistical constraints.

Testing

After we're finished with the ideation phase we'll have a few show formats to pick from. We then test the formats to determine which feels best to both produce and consume. These tests are done internally before the show is launched. Although changes are noted so that everything can be revisited and retested post show launch.

Production

Production is where the magic happens. Each production typically breaks down in two buckets. Remote and in-studio. Our team has the knowledge and experience to produce either so the choice is typically made based on phases one and two seen above. We work with you on each and every episode to not only make production a care free process but also to ensure the production of your show evolves with you!

Distrubtion

We don't just click publish. We watch, listen, and analyze every episode. We're obsessed with learning each platform and the best ways not just to improve the content but grow your show until it's reached complete niche dominance! We study both the audio and video performance. We listen to the audience's feedback and are constantly looking for new ways to improve.

Build A True Fan Base

Sure, the world doesn't need another aimless podcast of people talking into the void. But a thoughtfully produced show that educates, entertains, and cultivates real community? Now that is always needed!

Let's Get To Work

Triggered & True

Podcast Production & Show Development

When Brian and Laura came to us, their show had already been on air for nearly four years with an impressive 58 episodes. So the mission for us was not to build something from scratch but to find the gaps and see where improvements could be made.

The first thing we tackled was small and easy production adjustments that fit within their budget. From there, we tackled YouTube packaging with custom thumbnails, titles, and descriptions. These minor improvements provided an average overall YouTube channel lift of 43% across views, watchtime, and subscribers!

Podcasts Are More Visual Than Ever

Yes, when you think of podcasts, your first thought is (and probably should be) audio, but believe it or not, podcasts are becoming an ever more visual medium.

YouTube, for example, has now reported 1 billion monthly active podcast consumers! And 400 million monthly watch hours on living room devices alone! That's TV's as in Televisions, crazy right?

That's not considering Spotify, which reported a 140% increase in the number of video podcasts in its top 50 U.S. podcasts list in 2024 compared to 2023.

And all of this still doesn't account for the ever-growing presence of podcast "clips" living throughout nearly all social media platforms. So the question is, if you're podcast isn't visual, why not?
